NAIROBI, KAREN BLIXEN, SAMBURU, MT.KENYA, LAKE NAIVASHA, MASAI MARA, LAMU, NAIROBI - 13 DAYS/12 NIGHTS

Day 1:

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport - Nairobi you will be met and transferred to Karen Blixen House for Overnight.

Day 2:

Visit the former home of Karen Blixen, now a museum. Here you will have the opportunity to experience the former residence of the old famous Danish writer Karen Blixen and to admire the view of Ngong Hills from the beautiful gardens.

Later, drive on to the Giraffe center to see and feed Daisy the famous Rothschild Giraffe. Lunch at the carnivore restaurant is a gastronomic experience not to be missed! Famous for its succulent steaks, barbequed dishes and game meat, it is equally enjoyable for its ambiance and festive atmosphere.

Later in the evening proceed for acity tour with a visit to the national museum. Overnight at Karen Blixen House.

Day 3:

Depart Nairobi by air to Kenya's rugged northern region, on to Samburu game reserve. A representative from Samburu Intrepids will meet you at the airstrip and transfer you to the lodge.

The lodge is perched on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro river in the soul-stirring wilderness of Samburu Game reserve. Some of the activities include, nature walks, scheduled game drives where one has the opportunity to see the distinctive gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe and other game species.

Overnight at Samburu Intrepids.

Day 4: Samburu Intrepids.

Day 5: Mt Kenya Safari Club.

Transfer to the airstrip, fly to Mt. Kenya region (Nanyuki). Sprawled on the slopes of majestic Mount Kenya, this exclusive private club offers an experience of refined elegance and luxury unparalled anywhere in the continent.

Day 6: Mt Kenya Safari Club/ Lake Naivasha

Depart Mt. Kenya after breakfast and proceed to Olerai House, a secluded farmhouse set in the beutiful countryside of the northern shores of Lake Naivasha. Olerai House, owned by Oria and Iain Douglas Hamilton, renowned for their research and studies into elephant behaviour, is a welcoming and hospitable travellers refuge.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, the ambience is tranquil and the house and grounds quite lovely. Oria's Italian heritage is evident in the great attention paid to matters culinary and aesthetic.

There are no rigid timetables at Olerai House. Meals are served to guest's convenience and to fit in with the activities. Some of the activities at the house include, hikes across the back hills of the farm, bird walks, a boat ride to Crescent Island or a game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 7 to 9: Masaai Mara Olonana Camp.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Maasai Mara. Upon arrival you will be met by a representative from Olonana Camp and be transferred to the Camp.

The Camp is situated on the riverbanks of Mara River and adjacent to a Maasai cultural village and in the heart of Kenya's big game country. This luxury camp features 12 spacious permanent tents, each with two queen-size bed, ensuite bathroom and sower, and large, riverview verandas.

Activities include: Expert guided game drives in open vehicles by day or by night, walking safaris and a visit to to catch a rare glimpse of the day-to-day lives of the fascinating Masai people and culture. You can also coose to go for a balloon safari, which allows breathtaking panoramic views of the Mara and offers fantastic opportunities to photograph the african wildlife such as lions, elephants, gazelles and perhaps the spectacular wildebeest migration.

The balloon safari ends with a champagne style breakfast at the landing site.

Overnight at Olonana Camp.

DAY 10: LAMU KIPUNGANI EXPLOLER

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Nairobi to catch your flight to Lamu. . A ninety-minute flight from Nairobi will take you to Manda Island, adjacent to the ancient sleepy Swahili island of Lamu.

On landing you will be met with warm island charm before boarding a speedboat and taking a twenty minute journey through a wide channel, fringed with mangroves, to Kipungani.

Spend the afternoon at leisure at the hotel.

DAY 11 -12: LAMU KIPUNGANI EXPLOLER

Spend these days at leisure with optonal activities.

DAY 13:

Depart Lamu to catch your International flight for home.
