This safari is ideal for the visitors who need to relax and unwind. The reserve lie 325km from Nairobi within the lands of the colorful Samburu tribe, relatives of the famed Masai.The park is home to wildlife species rarely found elsewhere, including Grevy’s Zebra, gerenuk gazelle, Oryx, reticulated giraffe and the Somali ostrich.

Tour starts: Nairobi-Ends Nairobi
Transportation: standard 9 sweater van with pop up roof with radio communication.

Activities include: game viewing, bird watching, and visit to Masai village

Day One: Nairobi /Samburu

Today we head north through the town of Isiolo. Here in the Samburu / Shaba Reserve, you will see wildlife not found in the South: Somali Ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, the reticulated giraffe and gerenuk gazelle. Evening game viewing is planned. We spend the night along the banks of the beautiful Uaso Nyiro River at Samburu Serena. (Meal Plan (L, D).

Day Two: Samburu Game Reserve.

The day is yours to explore the beauty of semi-arid region, with its unique species of bird life. Morning and afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena. Meal Plan (B, L, D)

Day Three: Samburu/ Sweet Waters

Drive to sweet waters Tented Camp; the luxurious thatched-roofed tents overlook a large waterhole which is floodlit by night, providing a haven for thirsty wildlife. The water hole offers excellent and secluded game viewing rarely available elsewhere. Dinner and overnight at the Sweet waters camp. Meal Plan (B, L, D).

Day Four: Sweet Waters/ Mountain Lodge

After breakfast depart for Mountain Lodge, set deep in mountain forest and overlooking a floodlit water hole. Elephants, Rhino, Buffalo, Waterbuck, Forest-Hog and perhaps the elusive Bongo may be observed from the safety of the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Mountain Lodge or Treetops lodge. Meal Plan (B, L, D).

Day Five: Mountain Lodge/ Lake Nakuru National Park

Leaving the lush highlands descend via the magnificent Thomson’s Falls to Lake Nakuru National Park. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill. Meal Plan (B, L, D)

Day Six: Lake Nakuru National Park/Nairobi

After breakfast depart Lake Nakuru National Park for Nairobi. Meal Plan (B)
