Bawe Island Resort (Private Island)

Bawe Island is a small island in the Zanzibar Archipelago, in Tanzania. It is located about 10 km/6 miles to the west of Zanzibar Town (a 30 minutes boat ride) offshore Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar on the island of Unguja.

Elegantly lying 5 miles off Zanzibar's Stone Town, Bawe Tropical Island is an island not bigger than a football pitch; a spectacular private island, a haven of peace, silence and cut off ness from the madding outside world. Its perfect setting for those escaping on a romantic breakaway.

Bawe offers breathtaking marine life. The waters around the island are an excellent location for diving and snorkeling. During the 1870's, the island was an important telecommunications link between Zanzibar, Seychelles, Aden and South Africa Bawe Tropical Island creates an innovative up-market concept in the hospitality services in Zanzibar, with its stunning location on a private and secluded island.that offers a very elementary place with no air condition; Instead simplicity, anonymity and freedom are the determining factors for the guests, Bawe Tropical Island is ideal for those looking to escape a hectic lifestyle. The island possesses all the alluring dreams of isolation, of remoteness, of getting away from it all.

Arrival at Bawe is something truly unforgettable; a spectacular private island, a haven of peace and silence, cut off from the chaotic outside world.

This lost corner of the world offers a very elementary place with no air conditioning. When choosing Bawe, simplicity, anonymity and freedom are the determining factors for the guests - 30 people cut off from the rest of the world, for whom clothing is optional… Ofcourse, it is your private stretch of sandy beach with barely anyone on it. Only footprints; maybe your own.

Life is so sleepy on this island… It is said that the clock strikes twice – the second time is for those who weren’t awake for the first.

Bawe is the love beach. Simply too good to be true.
